Our own analyses tally 4,461 open AI roles with 1,805 in modeling and 41 in safety, and 884 modeling-and-engineering openings versus 17 in evaluation-and-safety over 30 days, with OpenAI and Anthropic adding 79 and 49 roles. Across the 194 employers we track, 4,463 AI roles were open as of 2026-09-08, down 59 on the week. Our model puts new AI jobs created month-to-date at roughly 44,204. Together, these numbers describe a market that is still expanding but channeling demand toward shipping systems.
