The report predicts that by 2035, data centers will require 106 gigawatts of power, a sharp rise from the current 40 gigawatts. AI training and inference, which are projected to account for nearly 40% of total data center compute, are key drivers of this demand.

Monitoring Analytics, the independent monitor, has raised concerns about the grid's capacity to sustain such growth without affecting electricity prices, highlighting the need for strategic planning and investment in grid infrastructure.
